Flavia M. Lobo is a writer and translator from Rio de Janeiro. She graduated from the French Institute of Notre Dame de Sión in Kansas City and the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, then earned diplomas in English language and literature from Cambridge University and lived in Oxford, where she taught English language and literature, French, and Portuguese to young prisoners. Subsequently, she taught in international schools in Norway, Lesotho and Papua New Guinea. She has published a book of poems, short stories and children's stories in Brazil. Her translations for the Brazilian public include Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband and Liam O'Flaherty's The Informer. She helped revise the translation of James Joyce's Ulysses besides editing and translating the Notes. Her translation of André Sant'Ánna's story Bitches Brew was featured in the online literary magazine THE CAFÉ IRREAL #18 and her own story Masks in THE CAFÉ IRREAL # 19. Her translation of another of Sant'Anna's pieces, Love, appeared in the online OMEGA 6 Journal of Arts and Letters. Her poem The New Land appeared in BLADES 41. She currently lives in the United States.
